Supreme Court justices appear poised to offer Trump some immunity

Trump is right that it was a “BIG DAY IN COURT(E)” yesterday, with the Supreme Court hearing oral arguments on his questionable “presidential immunity” defense and his hush money hearing picking up in New York.

In DC, the justices were poised to offer Trump and future US presidents some form of protection from criminal prosecution over actions taken while in the White House, while rejecting broad absolute immunity, acknowledging the “huge implications” of their ultimate decision.

Ariana Baio has this report on a monumental day, one that might have major ramifications for this year’s presidential race, let alone the future of American democracy.

Truth Social: Trump claims hush money hearing ‘completely fell apart’, dismisses media opponents

Good morning! Let’s take a look at Trump’s latest social media output, shall we?

He still absolutely refused to learn his lesson regarding the oral order in the hush money hearing, once more referring to Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg as “Soros-backed” and claiming, ridiculously, that the case had “completely fallen apart” and that “Virtually every Jurist and expert has declared that there is no crime, it never was.”

Did they? You’d think we’d have heard regarding it by now.

Meanwhile, he continued to push his lie that New York City authorities were suppressing (non-existent) mass MAGA protests outside the courthouse and posted further Fox News clips attacking the “sham” trial.

Elsewhere he is back to trash Tomorrow Joe and The New York Times once more like 2017 never ended, but is curiously silent on the subject of the Supreme Court, perhaps indicating that he realizes just how crucial the justices’ eventual ruling will be to his fate.

To reverse Trump repeal, FCC restores net neutrality

The FCC Thursday reinstated “net neutrality” rules that broadband Internet providers such as Comcast and AT&T to favor some sites and applications over others.

The move effectively restores a net neutrality order that the commission first issued in 2015 during the Obama administration; under then president Donald Trumpthe FCC subsequently repealed those rules in 2017.

Net neutrality is the principle that internet service providers must treat all traffic equally. For example, the rules prohibit practices that throttle or block certain sites or applications, or that offer higher speeds to customers willing to pay extra.

Trump claims campus protests are worse than deadly white supremacy rally in Charlottesville

Donald Trump claimed that the anti-Semitic, white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017 was “peanuts” compared to the current pro-Palestine demonstrations on American college campuses.

Joe Biden would keep saying he ran because of Charlottesville,” he wrote, referring to the 2020 election.

“Well, if that’s the case, he really did a terrible job because Charlottesville is like a ‘peanut’ compared to the riots and anti-Israel protests that are currently taking place all over our country.”

The National Enquirer was the popular American tabloid for many years. Donald Trump helped change that

Capture and kill. Checkbook journalism. Secret deals. Friends helping friends.

Even through National Enquirer standards, testimony by his former publisher David Pecker at Donald Trump‘s hush-hush trial this week revealed a stunning level of corruption at America’s most famous tabloid and may one day be seen as the moment it effectively died.

“It just has no credibility,” said Lachlan Cartwright, executive editor of the Enquirer from 2014 to 2017. “Whatever kind of credibility it had has been totally damaged by what happened in court this week.”

Pecker was back on the witness stand Thursday to talk more regarding the arrangement he made to boost Trump’s 2016 presidential bid, tear down his rivals and silence any revelations that might have damaged him.
