Former US President Donald Trump appeared on CNN on the 10th (local time) and repeated his previous claims, such as disobeying the presidential election defeat and denying the congressional riot.

Former President Trump received questions from Republican supporters and local voters, including moderator Katelan Collins, at a CNN town hall meeting held in New Hampshire, the United States that day. It’s been 7 years since he appeared on CNN.

First of all, he did not admit that he lost the 2020 presidential election and repeated his previous claim that the election was rigged. Former President Trump said, “It is very sad that all that (election manipulation) happened,” and rather criticized the Biden administration, saying, “Looking at what happened to the United States, our country has fallen into hell.”

Even over the Capitol riots on January 6, 2021, he told Congressman Nancy Pelosi, then Speaker of the House, that he was responsible for the security failure. Former President Trump said, “The big problem is that Nancy Pelosi, as I affectionately call it, crazy Nancy and the mayor of Washington was the head of security. They didn’t do their part.”

If he succeeds in re-election, he said, “I am willing to pardon many” of the rioters. He also objected at the time to the view that he should apologize to former Vice President Mike Pence over the incident. In the past, former Vice President Pence said his life was threatened by the Capitol riot.

Regarding the result of a civil lawsuit asking for compensation of $5 million to a woman victim of sexual violence, former President Trump said, “I don’t know that woman. she never met “I don’t know who she is,” he repeated his previous position.

As a solution to the inflation problem, he cited “more drilling for oil in the United States.” He went on to say that gas prices were at their lowest level during his tenure, and he claimed he had created “the greatest economy in history.”

Regarding the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution, which regulates gun ownership, he said, “If re-elected, I will protect the 2nd Amendment and mental health.” Former President Trump said, “It’s not the gun that pulls the trigger, it’s the people,” and said he would create a safer environment by hiring more security guards at facilities such as schools to solve mass shootings.

When asked regarding the war in Ukraine, “If I were president, there would not have been a war. If it were me, I would end the war within 24 hours.” Regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin, he said he “made a mistake” but “calling him a war criminal would make it more difficult to solve the problem.”

CNN published an article on former President Trump’s remarks that day, adding explanations to parts that were different from the facts among his remarks.
