Barrett Prettyman Courthouse, the seat of the court and very close to the United States Capitol, at around 3:14 p.m. local time (9:14 p.m. CET), amid great media and a strong police presence. From his entrance to the building, Trump was already technically under court order to appear before Judge Moxila Upadhyaya, in charge of reading him the four charges once morest him: conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official procedure, obstruction and attempted of obstructing an official procedure and conspiring once morest rights.

For the first of these accusations, he might receive a maximum sentence of five years in prison, for the second and third twenty years in prison, respectively, and for the fourth, ten years. Predictably, Trump pleaded “not guilty,” as he did in the two previous criminal charges he has received, as it is the third criminal case once morest him in less than six months. The judge heard Trump at the preliminary hearing, scheduled for 4:00 p.m. (10:00 p.m. CET). The judge agreed to release the former president following setting the conditions for his release, and set the next hearing for August 28.
