On Saturday, US presidential candidate Donald Trump will hold a campaign rally in the small town of Butler, Pennsylvania, where an assassination attempt was made on his life on July 13. Firefighter Corey Comperatore died.

Shortly before the rally, an explosive audio recording was released. The audio recording is from a private donor event in Aspen, Colorado. Trump can be heard making a joke about Helen Comperatore, the widow of slain firefighter Corey Comperatore.

Audience laughs

“So they’re going to get millions of dollars, but the woman, the wife, this beautiful woman, I handed her the check – we handed her the check – she said, ‘That’s so nice and I appreciate it, But I’d much rather have my husband.’ I know some of the women in this room wouldn’t say the same thing,” Trump said, as the audience laughed.

According to the British newspaper “The Guardian”, over twelve million dollars were donated to the Trump campaign for the presidential candidacy at the event in Aspen.

Assassination in Butler

Trump narrowly escaped death in the Butler assassination attempt. The shooter who was killed by the Secret Service security agency missed Trump by millimeters. The 78-year-old only suffered minor injuries to his ear.

Pennsylvania is one of the so-called swing states that voted for the Republican candidate and the Democratic candidate in the presidential election and is therefore considered crucial for the outcome of the election on November 5th.
