For two teams (Sharks and Predators), the regular season has already begun. Indeed, the two teams faced each other twice during the weekend, in Prague, Czech Republic.
Nashville won both games (4-1 and 3-2).
In those two games, the Sharks dressed a Russian (Evgeny Svechnikov) and the Preds dressed one too (Yakov Trenin).
Why am I telling you regarding Russian players? Because Dominik Hasek, a native of the Czech Republic, did not like that these two participated in the two meetings in his country.
During the weekend 2 @NHL games were played in Prague. The leadership of the NHL did not respect the position of our MFA that Russian players should not play. Until the current leaders of the NHL resign and the new apologize to our country, the NHL is no longer welcome in the ČR

Hasek, who wanted a suspension for all Russian NHL players, is (still) furious with the League. The former goalkeeper demands that Bettman and his colleagues resign if they want more matches in the Czech Republic.
Until NHL leaders resign and future bosses apologize, the NHL is not welcome in Czechia. – Dominik Hasek
The country’s foreign minister, Jan Lipavský, stipulated not long ago that players of Russian origin should not play. Hasek is therefore furious that the NHL did not listen to his minister. To note that Hasek ran for the Czech presidency in 2020. He is therefore very involved in the politics of his country.
I understand that the situation of the war in Ukraine can worry and affect Hasek, but I do not understand why he wants so much that the Russian players (who have not necessarily chosen their president and who are not necessarily in agreement with decisions) no longer practice their profession.
If a professional hockey player has to give up his career for political reasons, then why should other Russians in North America be allowed to keep their jobs/careers? What’s good for kitty is good for kitty, right?
let’s remember that Nikita Scherbak had to leave his Czech team (because he was Russian). And this file is just as ridiculous. So let’s see you punishing a guy for his origins. If the Russian in question defends Vladimir Putin in the public square or on social networks, that’s another matter, but if the guy does not speak out, why should he be punished?
Alexander Ovechkin and his profile photo with the Russian President on Instagram (which he still hasn’t changed) is also another folder…
