The officer of dominican police Arianna Reyes-Gomez31 years old, was murdered several times stabs for her ex-husband Argenis de Jesus Baez, 34 years oldearly Monday morning in an apartment in the Bronx.
According to New York authorities, the two had a heated argument that turned deadly. They reported that the agent called a family member, who then called 911 and dispatched police to the scene.
El New York Post reported that the police arrived at the house around 2:50 in the morning and found the victim unconscious.
The couple have a son together, who was not in the house during the altercation.
After committing the crime, Argenis de Jesús Báez turned himself in at a police station, where he awaits being informed of the charges once morest him.
“I am devastated and I ask God for a lot of strength so that my family and I can bear their loss,” expressed the sister of the Dominican.
Several people declared that Reyes-Gómez was a helpful person, “an angel on earth.”
Through the NYPD Twitter account they expressed mourning for the loss of the agent.
“Our hearts are heavy as we investigate the tragic murder of an off-duty NYPD officer last night in the Bronx”, they stated.
