As a contribution to overcome the difficulties that the country’s air sector is going throughthe low-cost airline JetSMART launched a series of offers with promotional codes in which it will apply a special rate with discounts on domestic routes with prices that will not exceed $50,000.
For now it has been established that the operation of the low cost will be given in the last quarter of 2023. “Between October and December we will arrive in the country, and the purpose is to allow trips with prices of just $50,000,” said Estuardo Ortiz, CEO of JetSmart.
The business leader further indicated that the discount would be applied for the routes Bogota – Pereira – Bogota; Cartagena-Pereira-Cartagena; Medellin – Pereira – Medellin; and Cúcuta – Pereira – Cúcuta.
It should be remembered that JetSMART has permission to operate on 27 air routes in Colombia. Among the airports in which he has the task are: Bogotá, Medellín, Cartagena, Cali, Barranquilla, Santa Marta, Bucaramanga, San Andrés, Pereira, Montería, Cúcuta and Pasto.
In addition, the tickets with discount will be for the frequencies: Bogota – Santiago de Chile ($1,300,000); Medellín – Santiago de Chile ($1,400,000) and Cali – Santiago de Chile ($1,300,000).
It should be remembered that the airline JetSmart, controlled by the US investment fund Indigo Partnersexpressed interest in acquiring all the shares of the Colombian Viva Air.
“JetSmart confirms that it has the resources, capacity and experience to negotiate and close an acquisition in an agile manner”, the company said in a statement in which it also assured that it notified Viva Air “of its interest in acquiring 100% of the airline’s shares”.
In this regard, Ortiz pointed out that a transaction between JetSmart and Viva Air will allow the ultra-low-cost model to be maintained in Colombia and that will allow us to continue offering more routes at lower prices.
The company further believes thatan eventual integration between JetSmart and Viva Air would be the option with better conditions for the market, since the airlines do not have common routes in Colombia and both operate new fleets of Airbus A320neo”.
“We believe in the potential of the Colombian market. Our alternative will redound to the benefit of usersstrengthening free competition in the sector and will promote tourism and connectivity in the country”, the CEO of JetSMART.
