Independiente de Avellaneda is experiencing a delicate moment in all aspects of its institutional life. While the team has a weak sporting level, which is why Leandro Stilletano stopped being their coach, on the economic level the issue is very uphill.
A few days ago, the club received a very big judicial setback, since it will have to pay a millionaire sum of 2,300 million pesos to Gonzalo Verón, a former striker of the institution. This Thursday, through its social networks, the Avellaneda entity reported that it initiated criminal and civil lawsuits once morest the previous board of directors headed by Hugo Moyano.
The main ones targeted by the current Independiente board of directors, headed by Fabián Doman, are the Truckers unionist and Héctor “Yoyo” Maldonado, who was the secretary of “Red” during Moyano’s administration.
The complaint is for “irregularities found in the judicial files of Gonzalo Verón, the unpaid sponsorship of OCA and the sale of the economic rights of Jorge Nicolás Figal (today in Boca) to the MLS,” the statement said.
Regarding the Verón case, Independiente indicated that it will appeal the sentence that requires such high compensation for the player. In addition, there will be a civil lawsuit once morest the aforementioned Moyano and Maldonado with the aim of “recovering the money not received for the use of the institution’s image through clothing sponsorship.”
