Eight hotels and a parking lot in the Downtown Medellin, were subject to domain extinction. In a joint work between the Medellín Mayor’s Officethe Attorney General’s Office and the Metropolitan Police of the Aburrá Valley.

According to the authorities’ report, the estate were used for illicit activities such as sexual exploitation, drug trafficking and homicides.

“In these places, between 2022 and 2024, 40 search and seizure procedures have been carried out by drug trafficking and marketing. In one of the hotels, the National Police On three previous occasions, it had temporarily suspended the activity, for allowing the admission of minors of age and for not meeting the requirements to develop the established economic activity”: reported the commander of the Metropolitan Police of the Aburrá Valley, Brigadier General William Castaño.

One of the most serious cases occurred in one of the hotels on September 13, in which the authorities found a Israeli citizen in the company of a under 16 years old.

“This type of operations obtained by the National Police against the properties used by criminal structures for drug trafficking, allow at a judicial level, to attack and remove from their property, the assets acquired with economic resources, derived from illicit activities”: specified the commander of the Metropolitan Police.

The properties were valued at more than 11 billion pesos.
