Seth Rollins is high on Dominik Mysterio’s work as a heel.
The current reigning heavyweight champion of the world explained how he thinks Mysterio is much better as a heel than a babyface during a recent interview on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast.
“I wrestled Dom in his first match on live television. We did this great story that probably no one has ever seen where I annihilated this kid with a kendo stick. I destroyed him with it. It built for this match with him and me at SummerSlam. It was wonderful to see where he was then, he was a good guy and babyface, straight white meat, ‘I’m Rey Mysterio’s kid.’ For me, I knew. I was sitting at a live event not long ago and he was getting booed out of the building and Hurricane Helms was sitting with me,

Yes. I might see this coming. He’s not cut out to be a babyface. He’s Rey Mysterio’s child. People think he’s being handed over while being Rey’s child. It’s so easy to want to hate nepotistic morons. It’s so easy to hate people who find out the last name. They’ll love it at first, but eventually it’ll all come back. So he can feel [les huées], take that and apply it every week and trust the people around him telling him what to do, to do that turn him into what he is now where he can’t pick up a microphone to say words because that they’re going to boo him out of the building. It’s fantastic. It’s so fun to watch. I’m with him on these live events all the time and he’s a sponge for information.

He will apply it the next day and it works. You can see that the little things he does at each stage start to improve. He’s a young cat. He is still growing in his body, learning to do so. You can’t fill Rey Mysterio’s shoes, you can never do that. For him to develop as something completely different from his father, it has to take a lot of the weight off his shoulders. He doesn’t have to be his dad, he can be his own thing and that’s fantastic,” he said.
