Dollar price rises, MLC and Euro remain stable 2024-07-26 16:54:25

Today, Wednesday, the informal currency market in Cuba has registered a new variation in exchange rates.

According to the latest data shared by the Toque platform, the US dollar has seen an increase, while the euro and the Freely Convertible Currency (MLC) have remained stable.

The euro remains constant at $315.00 CUP, unchanged from the previous day. This stability reflects a pause in the fluctuations observed in previous days. The US dollar has risen 7.5 pesos, now trading at $310.00 CUP. This increase is significant and highlights a change in the trend of the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, the Freely Convertible Currency (MLC) remains at $270.00 CUP, unchanged from the previous day. This stability contrasts with the fluctuations of the dollar. It is important to note that, although currencies have experienced these variations, in some groups for buying and selling currencies in Cuba, offers for slightly different values are still found. Exchange rates are not homogeneous and can vary according to the region and other factors. The current reality regarding supply and demand in a small municipality in the east of the country is not the same as in the capital. Many factors influence the value of foreign currency in the informal market, from the urgency of the person selling or buying, to the place where the transaction takes place, the amounts offered and the state of preservation or the denomination of the banknotes.

  • Euros (EUR): 1 EUR = 315 CUP (no change)
