The Dolidol Group, the leading pan-African player in the polyurethane foam, bedding and industrial carpentry sector, has just announced the signing of a joint-venture agreement with the Berkem Group (listed on Euronext Growth Paris), a reference in plant chemistry, for the establishment of a production and marketing site for alkyd resins in Côte d’Ivoire.
With an investment of €5 million, this new alkyd resin production plant will be located in French-speaking West Africa, a statement said. From Côte d’Ivoire, it will serve neighboring countries such as Ghana, Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea, Niger and Liberia, as well as European countries.
Scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2024, the new subsidiary resulting from this joint venture will have a production capacity of 5,000 tonnes per year in the first phase, for an area of 3,500 m²., according to the same source.
This new stage in the industrial strategy of the Dolidol Group consolidates the developments initiated, in line with its ambitions to diversify its activities on the continent.
“This partnership will make it possible to produce alkyd resins in Côte d’Ivoire and to export these products to neighboring African countries as well as to other European countries. While diversifying its activities, Dolidol – bridgehead of the industrial pole of AFRICORP Consortium, is proud to be able to strengthen its leading position in the chemical and parachemical industry and thus confirm its resolutely African vocation. » declared Jaafar Harti, Managing Director of the Dolidol Group and CEO AFRICORP Consortium.
“Working on such an ambitious project with the AFRICORP Consortium Group is a sensible choice, conducive to the joint success of this association. We are already working on the creation of product lines adapted to the technical and climatic constraints of these markets. This industrial and commercial joint venture is a first for the Berkem Group, we are all the more attentive to the success of what might be a model for the future of the Group. said Olivier Fahy, Chairman and CEO of Groupe Berkem.
