The Dolidol Group and the Berkem Group join forces to set up a production and marketing site for alkyd resins in Côte d’Ivoire. This joint venture (JV) will be the first alkyd resin production site located in French-speaking West Africa and will have a production capacity of 5,000 tonnes per year. The total investment reaches 5 million euros (approximately 55 million DH). In addition to Côte d’Ivoire, the site will serve neighboring countries such as Ghana, Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea, Niger and Liberia as well as European countries. The start-up of the site should take place in the first quarter of 2024. It should be noted that the new subsidiary resulting from this JV will have a production capacity of 5,000 tonnes per year in the first phase, for an area of 3,500 m².
This new stage in the industrial strategy of the Dolidol Group consolidates the developments initiated, in line with its ambitions to diversify its activities on the continent. “This project marks the start of a collaboration with a renowned European partner, a leader in the plant chemistry sector. Thanks to the know-how of the Dolidol Group and the Berkem Group, this partnership will make it possible to produce alkyd resins in Côte d’Ivoire and to export these products to neighboring African countries as well as to other European countries.”said Jaafar Harti, CEO of Dolidol and CEO Africorp Consortium.
