Day passes of 3 riyals are available only on 8th, 9th and 10th. Paper tickets of 3 riyals can be obtained from Travel Card Vending Machines or Gold Club Offices at Doha Metro Stations. The service of Doha Metro started on May 8, 2019. It has covered more than 44,000 km in 3 years.
The first service was on the long red line from Al Quasar to Al Wakrah South. By the end of the 3 year service, the service from Wakrah to Al Quasar had been extended to Qatar, Lagtafia, Qatar University and Lucille QNB. In November 2019, the Doha Metro began operating on the Gold Line from Ras Bu Aboud to Al Azizia and in December on the Green Line from Al Mansoura to Al Rifa (Mall of Qatar).
From the date of commencement till March 2022, more than 1.5 million travel cards (Standard and Gold Club) have been issued. Doha Metro’s MetroLink buses, which started operating on 13 routes, now operate on 43 routes from 37 stations. The earliest travel cards were Limited Use, Standard and Gold. Later, paper tickets for limited use were scrapped as part of environmental protection.
