The 44-year-old from the Freistadt district met her neighbor’s dog at around 11:10 a.m. When she bent down to pet the old German shepherd, he suddenly bit her in the face.
The woman suffered a gaping wound several centimeters long on her forehead and was taken to a hospital by rescue services after receiving first aid.
The 51-year-old owner will be reported. There have been no such incidents with the dog so far, said a police spokeswoman.
