The World Health Organization has confirmed that there is no need for mass vaccinations so far to avoid an outbreak of “monkeypox”, according to Al Sharq TV.

And the American Center for Disease Control announced that work is underway to launch new vaccines once morest monkeypox.

The European Center for Disease Prevention and Control said that if the current wave of monkeypox in Europe passes from humans to animals and spreads in an animal community, the disease might become endemic.

The center explained that there is a need for close cooperation between human and veterinary public health authorities to deal with pets exposed to the disease and prevent its transmission to wildlife.

The center indicated that the human cases that were currently diagnosed were mainly in men who had sex with men, and this suggests that transmission of the disease can occur during intimate relationships.

“Most of the current cases have had mild symptoms of the disease, and for the wider population, the likelihood of the disease spreading is very low,” said Andrea Amon, head of the center.

“However, the possibility of the virus spreading further through close contact, for example, through sexual activities between people in multiple sexual relationships, is high,” she added.
