Although the official launch of Mortal Kombat 1 is tomorrow, September 19, many people have already been able to play it thanks to the early access included in its Premium Edition. That is why we have already been able to see the first gameplays and comparisons between versions, which have raised certain doubts with the Nintendo Switch version: does the new Mortal Kombat on Switch look that bad?
The fighting game from NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Games arrives this year exclusively for next-generation consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X/S), as well as obviously for PC. It will not have versions for next-generation consoles, neither for PS4 nor for Xbox One, but it will come out for Nintendo Switch with a native version (no cloud gaming) at full price (69.99) in Spain.
How bad is Mortal Kombat 1 on Nintendo Switch?
According to the first technical analysis, the version of Mortal Kombat 1 on Nintendo Switch seeks to run at 900p when connected to the dock, although it normally drops to 720p-640p. Its framerate seems to be quite good, yes, reaching 60 fps. In portable mode, the resolution points to 720p dynamic, which translates into an average of 480p. The most negative aspect seems to be in the modeling, textures and facial expressions of the characters, which is what has sparked controversy this weekend on social networks.
On the other hand, there are people who are already testing this version and claim that it has many bugs that can hinder the game. Of course, Mortal Kombat 1 may fix them in updates like the one that has already arrived to improve the Invasion mode and the story mode, but at the moment it seems to have technical errors like the ones you can see below these lines.

It remains to be seen if these technical and graphical errors are correctable in subsequent updates or if, on the contrary, they will remain forever in the Switch version. Mortal Kombat 1 arrives on September 19 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch. At Vandal you can read our impressions of the single-player modes and consult our game guide.
