Iran reaffirmed its position against a war with Israel, arguing that it does not consider it “necessary.” Furthermore, he urged the government Israeli and its allies to exercise restraint to prevent an escalation of aggression, warning that any attack will provoke a response from Tehran.
We are against war. We do not see it necessary, and we call on those who support the (Israeli) regime to stop this type of aggression against other nations and countries in the region.«, declared in Madrid the Iranian ambassador to Spain, Reza Zabib.
Iran calls for containment to avoid new aggressions
The diplomat noted that his country has adopted self-containment measures for several months to not react to what they consider to be Israel’s aggression against their interests, including the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of Hamas, last July in Tehran.
“Now, he said, it is time for Israel and its allies to act ‘for peace and stability,'” he said.
Zabib accused Israel of “failing to fulfill its promise” to hold back and reach a ceasefire in Gaza, which has not happened. He criticized the inability to stop “a year of genocide in Palestine” and noted that the attacks have spread to Lebanon, following the same pattern of attacking innocent civilians.
“We had no choice but to react,” is how he responded to justify the Iranian attack this Tuesday with some 200 missiles against Israel.
