O iPhone 15 Pro Max arrived at the end of this year as Apple’s most advanced smartphone. Despite the conservative look, the North American company’s flagship features construction changes — such as the implementation of an action button and input in USB-C format instead of lightning — and specific improvements to the internal hardware.
Although the few advances have pleased Apple customers, there are also some negative points that have caught the attention of even the brand’s most loyal fans, such as overheating in some high-end models. According to informant Kuo, this may not be related to the chipset, but to the operating system.
In a recent battery test carried out by @ChargerLAB, experts evaluated the phone’s heat during charging and the results were surprising. In addition to games and renderings, charging is one of the moments in which the device heats up the most — especially on the back — precisely because it is connected to the charger;
Three tests carried out by analysts indicate that the iPhone 15 Pro Max can maintain a stable and balanced temperature even when charging. During the experiments, Apple’s flagship reached just 38.9 °C, a mark considered “fresh” by the laboratory experts, proving to be efficient in terms of thermal dissipation.
A curious fact observed during the test caught the researchers’ attention: the smartphone became colder following being connected to the socket for more than 60 minutes, going from 38.9 °C to 29.5 °C. This may have been due to power limitation as the battery approaches 100%, thus significantly reducing the temperature.

The 2023 Pro Max variant maintains the 25.5W power of its predecessor. The new version of iOS brought users three features related to charging: optimized charging, limit up to 80% and none. The company’s idea is that these resources contribute to increasing the useful life of the component.
