The scientists used data from the Spanish branch of the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC) to analyze the relationship between dietary content and cancer in 15,296 Spanish men, as well as other data, including data on physical activity, alcohol, smoking , educational level, and past medical history. The results of the study found that 609 of the men in the study developed symptoms of prostate cancer during the 17-year study period, and these men’s dietary patterns included Western diet, prudent diet and Mediterranean diet.
