The Los Angeles Dodgers announced a change in their pitchers for the Serie Divisional against the San Diego Padres. The team had Jack Flaherty and Yoshinobu Yamamoto for Game 1 and 2 respectively.
This Thursday they reported that they will reverse the order with these two pitchers. That is to say, Yoshinobu Yamamoto will pitch Game 1 this Saturday, while Flaherty will do the same on Sunday in Game 2.
Andrew Friedman, Dodgers Baseball Operations Manager, explained that this change is with a fifth game in mind. To reach five games, Flaherty could pitch again since he will have a regular five-day rest, something better for him.
Flaherty, 28 years old, is a more experienced player with previous playoff experience, something that puts him ahead of Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto will start Game 1 of the NLDS. Jack Flaherty will now start Game 2.

The Japanese, who was injured during the first months, would make only one start in this round. But he also couldn’t rule out a relief gig if Dave Roberts needed it.
Walker Buehler and Landon Knack, the last two pitchers, are still scheduled for Game 3 and 4.s that complete the rotation for this first postseason series. Game 1 will be at 5:38 this Saturday at Dodger Stadium.
Freddie Freeman and Miguel Rojas recover in the Dodgers
Freddie Freeman and Miguel Rojas were in an intersquad preparation practice game yesterday.
Freeman was unable to participate in the series in Colorado after he sprained his ankle. during the last series against the Padres. He’s been resting for the past week and appears ready for the divisional round.
For its part, Rojas also had some discomfort in his legs in the last few games. The Venezuelan shortstop finished the season in great shape and will be necessary for Roberts’ scheme.
One of the players who could make an appearance on the Dodgers’ roster is Tony Gonsolin, who had been out all year due to Tommy John surgery. The pitcher could appear as a middle reliever and give strength to the bullpen.
