Before Ark: Survival Evolved was available for PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass, Sony and Microsoft had to pay a heavy price.
latest Ethan Gach, journalist from Kotaku Discover interesting information in filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Snail Games USA on September 16 revealed that Sony had to pay $3.5 million to bring ARK: Survival Evolved to PlayStation Plus for the past month.
Additionally, Microsoft paid $2.5 million to keep ARK: Survival Evolved on Xbox Game Pass in the first half of this year. and paying another $2.3 million to bring ARK 2 to Xbox Game Pass when it officially launches.
Sony paid $3.5 million to make ARK: Survival Evolved a March PS Plus game.

This is because Sony and Microsoft have never disclosed information regarding the monthly subscription deal because it was a trade secret. Gamers may be surprised to not think that bringing games to play via the subscription system would cost this much.
