Documentary gives insight into Celine Dion’s battle against illness

The rights to “I Am: Celine Dion” by director Irene Taylor were purchased by streaming provider Prime Video, Dion announced on her website on Tuesday. A release date was not initially given.

“These last few years have been such a challenge for me, the journey from discovering my condition to learning to live with it and deal with it, but not letting it define me,” Dion said. “As I continue to work towards resuming my stage career, I realized how much I missed seeing my fans. During this absence, I decided that I wanted to document this part of my life in response to this little-known disease to raise awareness and help others who share this diagnosis.”

Dion announced some time ago that she had been diagnosed with a rare neurological disease called stiff person syndrome. She suffers from muscle cramps and sometimes has problems walking and singing. That’s why the “My Heart Will Go On” singer canceled all dates of her “Courage World Tour” in Europe planned for 2023 and 2024. With more than 250 million albums sold worldwide, Dion is one of the most successful musicians of her generation.
