Doctor warns of the danger of warts in children

The specialist points out that viral warts are not real skin tumors, but rather a disease caused by the human papillomavirus. Among these warts are rough warts, palmoplantar warts, mosaic warts, cystic warts, and others.

According to her, viral warts usually appear on the face, legs, hands and soles of the feet.

“Viral warts appear as flat papules that gradually enlarge. They can be solitary or focal and appear in one area of the body or in different areas. The infected person usually visits the doctor when they bother him when walking or when a deformity appears on the face or hand,” she says.

The doctor points out that a humid environment, changing temperatures, contact with a disease carrier, and weak immunity are factors that help viral warts appear.

She says: “The virus can remain dormant in the thickness of the skin for a long time and does not appear until the appropriate conditions are available, at which point it becomes active and its symptoms appear. In general, we must realize that viral warts are a test of the strength of the immune system.”

According to her, warts should be removed for several reasons: first, they are transmitted by contact from person to person. Second, viral warts can turn into malignant tumors. She warns against removing them yourself, as this can cause infection of surrounding tissues, and even other parts, which aggravates the course of the disease.

The doctor points out that the leading method of treating the disease is to destroy the focus of the virus’s accumulation. There are other chemical and physical methods that doctors use depending on the patient’s age, the location of the warts, their spread, and the duration of their appearance.
