A doctor at a local health center in the central Indian state of Maharashtra left the operating room directly while performing an operation on a patient because he was dissatisfied that the staff did not make tea for him as requested. After the incident, the authorities immediately formed an investigation team to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. The doctor may face relevant legal liabilities.

According to comprehensive reports from Indian media such as NDTV, eight women are expected to undergo fallopian tube ligation surgery at a health center in Nagpur, Maharashtra, central India, on the 3rd. Dr. Tejrang Bhalavi, who was in charge of the operation, following performing the operation on the four women, asked the staff for a cup of tea while the remaining four women were under anesthesia.

However, when the staff returned to the operating room, they returned empty-handed and did not prepare the tea requested by Dr. Tejilang. Unexpectedly, Dr. Tejilang became furious on the spot and left the operating room directly. The hospital management immediately contacted local medical officials, and another doctor was urgently dispatched to complete the operations on the remaining women.

After the incident, Nagpur Conference Chairman Soumya Sharma said that the incident was very serious and a three-member committee has been set up to conduct a thorough investigation. “If doctors would give up such a critical surgery for a cup of tea, they should be held liable under Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code,” he said.
