A Partnership for Safety and Wellbeing

The Piacenza Local Health Authority (ASL) has forged a groundbreaking partnership with the Piacenza Fire Brigade, prioritizing the health and safety of the firefighters who selflessly serve their community.

Under this agreement, tailored to address the unique needs of firefighters, a dedicated medical professional from the ASL will be assigned to the Provincial Fire Brigade Headquarters. This commitment underscores the importance placed on their well-being and provides them with direct access to specialized healthcare and support services throughout their service.

Comprehensive Healthcare for Courageous Responders

Pier Nicola Dadone, provincial commander of the Piacenza Fire Brigade, echoed the emphasis on safety, stating, "We are grateful for this agreement. The health of our personnel is paramount, and this initiative reinforces our unwavering dedication to their well-being.

This dedicated medical attention will span a comprehensive range of services. Health surveillance will actively monitor the health of operational, technical, and administrative staff, ensuring individualized records stay current and periodic medical evaluations are conducted.

Furthermore, the doctor will oversee proactive prevention measures, including the supervision of first aid training programs and direct healthcare assistance when needed. The agreement further extends to assessments, rigorously evaluating the psychophysical fitness of both aspiring and current firefighters.

The doctor designated for this role will hold practical experience ("You are here two to three times a week if needed, following the health conditions of the firefighters, but also to do the visits to the aspiring firefighters." The year-long partnership will primarily be centered at the Piacenza Command infirmary, with pre-arranged weekly appointments. The ASL and the Fire Brigade administration will actively monitor the quality of the service, ensuring effectiveness and

alignment with organizational standards.
