“A person who is very passionate regarding the health of his patients”, is how they describe the service that Dr. Adamar González provides to the community.
Born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, the health professional always knew that medicine was her vocation.
Almost recently graduated from medicine, she had three jobs in Puerto Rico.
I worked as a professor at the university, also in a hospital and as a doctor giving consultations.
And it was when he found in a newspaper that they were hiring doctors in the United States, specifically in Sarasota, Florida.
Out of 30 doctors, only two were hired, including Dr. González.
But the job was a bit peculiar: working with inmates at a correctional facility.
“I thought it didn’t last. There were few Hispanics at the time, few women, and it was a completely different area, but I found my calling when I started working with prisoners and I loved it,” recalled “Dr. G.”, who soon became the regional director of corrections medicine. “Even following 11 years I continue working in correction because I see patients that I can give them spiritual help and that encouraging word.”
Eight years ago he came to Orlando where he worked in clinics and continued to assist inmates.
The dream of Dr. Adamar González, come true
And recently, Dr. González inaugurated the first Comprehensive Medical and Wellness Center in Central Florida, which has three main areas of work: General Medicine, Nutrition and Aesthetics.
Businessmen, government officials, the media and the general public were present at the event.
The new facilities of “Dr. G”, are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, knowledgeable staff and a central location that makes it easy for both Kissimmeans and Orlando residents to get to.
The concept presented by “Dr. G”, is innovative because it is not limited to seeing only one aspect of the patient, but working as a whole.
“Very few centers have a complete perspective. The community needs to make a lot of progress in a broader vision of health and realize that nutrition and lifestyles can improve their physical and mental health and therefore their quality of life”, assured Dr. González.
The facilities were blessed by Pastor Felicita Rivera and speeches were made by Maribel Gómez Cordero, Orange County District 4 Commissioner; Olga Castaño, Deputy Mayor of the City of Kissimmee; Luis Martinez, representative of Mayor Buddy Dyer and Gary Berrios, representative of Senator Rick Scott.
Dr. González thanked her for the words of support for her project and made an emotional speech in which she assured that her mother’s death from cancer was the fact that prompted her to work on a comprehensive well-being project.
“Good followingnoon, first of all I want to thank each one of you for the presence at the inauguration of D’Vine, the first Comprehensive Health Center in Central Florida that works in three different but complementary areas: general medicine, nutrition, and aesthetics. It not only seeks to cure or heal an ailment, but also to prevent diseases and seek for people to have a better quality of life,” González said.
Many wondered why aesthetics? and it is that “Dr G” knows that looking good helps to maintain high self-esteem, personal satisfaction, motivation in the day to day and therefore this has a positive impact on health.
Part of this project is the internist Delmar Irizarry Garcés who provides aesthetic and health medicine. “I’m going to thread lift skin on the face, body, botox and IV therapy and medicine,” he commented.
“This is a dream that has been inside me for more than eight years. God simply puts opportunities in front of you and knows when he allows it to happen. The idea is to bring health to the Hispanic community- Actually, this project is not an aesthetic as I said; it is not a primary medicine center; it is an integral center created to improve the entire component of the human being”, explained González.
Subsequently, the ribbon cutting and a toast were made with which the D’Vine center was formally inaugurated.
Dr G, has a long time serving the Orlando community, providing health and many spiritual advice. Now with his own clinic, he wants to motivate people to seek health in every way, above all, to learn to be healthy.
“A community leader who believes that we can build a better society, doing humanitarian missions all over the world, bringing hope and optimism to the most dispossessed populations and we see her working in Kissimmee in Orlando speaking on our local stations, always being a kind person. ”, said Carina Silva, a Venezuelan communicator.
The center’s address is 14522 Landstar Blvd., Suite 103 in Orlando. Tel: 407-930-8001 and 321-558-0060.
