A small vestige of childhood that still helps in adulthood.
You may be one of those people who still have their childhood blanket in their bedroom. There’s nothing to be ashamed of, on the contrary, since this little “grigri” might actually have a beneficial effect on your sleep.
Indeed, according to a study conducted by researcher Anne-Sophie Tribot (in collaboration with the University of Montpellier, Aix-Marseille, CNRS, the Foundation for Research on Biodiversity and the IRD), nearly of one in two adults would still have a cuddly toy. To arrive at such an affirmation, the researcher asked 12,000 people to describe what they felt when faced with any stuffed animal and then faced with their cuddly toy. It turns out that when the stuffed animal does not belong to them, the participants pay much more attention to its physical appearance. Whereas when they describe their cuddly toy, they mainly mention its smell, its texture, the way they hold it. The form does not matter to them, it is the emotional aspect, which despite the passing years, is still very present.

Like our colleagues from Flair As revealed, the cuddly toy represents, even in adulthood, a reassuring and comforting anchor point. It is an object that allows, regardless of age, to calm its owner, to fight once morest stress and the feeling of abandonment. It is for this reason that it is said that a cuddly toy makes it easier to fall asleep.
If this investigation at first glance may seem futile and amusing, the researcher explains in her conclusion that this work opens “promising avenues”. In particular to understand the psychological functioning of man and perhaps allow to expand the relaxing effect of the comforter in different situations, such as “at school, in the hospital, at work, during negotiations or in a crisis situation.
As you will have understood, there is therefore no reason to blush to still have a cuddly toy, even an adult. On the contrary, you may be sleeping much better than those who don’t.
