Many people prefer to shower before bed and get rid of fatigue following a long day, but doctors believe that this habit is dangerous to public health.
In the following lines, we show you the harms of this habit, as mentioned in the American “brightside” website.
Doesn’t make you fall asleep easily
Taking a hot bath will raise your core body temperature and overwhelm your body. If you feel like you can’t go to bed without a shower, take a lukewarm shower an hour before bed.
– Rapid heartbeat
Hot water raises blood pressure, and medical experts warn that it causes your heart to beat faster, eventually leading to more health problems.
– Leads to weight gain
Going to the bathroom following eating confuses the digestive system and weight gain, which requires digestion to increase blood flow towards the stomach, and causes blood to flow to other parts of the body, so it is best to wait at least 30 minutes following a meal.
It causes you hair problems
Taking a shower right before bed and sleeping with your hair wet will make the pillowcase absorb moisture and create an ideal environment for harmful bacteria to grow, which in turn leads to various scalp problems, such as itching, irritation and dandruff.
