“Do not compare Belgium to France”, insists Paul Magnette

Less than 2% of the vote for the socialist candidate, Anne Hidalgo, a disaster that does not delight “our” PS… But do not go to make a comparison with Belgium, Paul Magnette affirms it: it has nothing to do .

It is a defeat for the left as a whole. Many socialist and environmental voters voted Mélenchon in view of the polls and in the name of “useful voting”. But it didn’t help. In a two-round presidential system, if the left is not united from the first, it is doomed to failure.

This is the state of mind at the PS on Monday where we are convinced that if all the left formations had accepted a single primary and appointed a common candidate, the French PS would be in the second round today ahead of Macron.
