DNIT Surpasses Expectations with Impressive 9% Surge in August Revenue

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The National Directorate of Tax Revenue (DNIT) managed to close the month of August with a 9% increase in collections, including internal and customs taxes. So far this year, some 25.7 billion guaraníes have been collected, reported the director of the institution, Oscar Orué.

Speaking to state media, Orué stressed that although the amount collected in August last year was already good, this year the income could have improved compared to that month.

“We are talking about 30 million dollars more in revenue, it is a prudent figure that is part of our estimate. Both internal taxes and customs management have seen increases,” he said.

In concrete numbers, he indicated that in August a little more than 360 million dollars were collected, which in guaraníes was 2.3 billion in total.

He stressed that so far this year the institution has already recorded 25.7 billion guaraníes in revenue, when last year, in the same period, approximately 21 billion had been collected. “We are talking about more than 20% in total,” he stressed.

The DNIT is an institution created by the current Government, merging the previous institutions of Taxation and Customs.

Since August of last year, the institution has reported constant improvements in tax and customs revenue figures, with estimates of further improvement of the figures, by an average of 7%, for the coming year.
