DNIT reaches US$ 720 million increase in collections since August 2023

Asuncion, IP Agency.– The National Directorate of Tax Revenue (DNIT) achieved an increase of 720 million dollars in revenues since August 2023, adding the improvements that have been recorded during each month, compared to the previous year.

The National Director of Tax Revenue, Oscar Orué, reported that by the end of July there had been an increase of 90 million dollars compared to the same period last year, bringing the increase to 720 million dollars.

Orué considered this figure to be “impressive”, as it demonstrates the positive results of merging customs and tax collections into a single institution.

In addition to improving tax collection, the DNIT has “clear objectives” of facilitating trade and formalizing the economy through simplified tax payment regimes.

The DNIT also ratifies its institutional commitment to the fight against smuggling, which benefits the national industry and small farmers, who manage to place their products on national markets.

The seizure of smuggled goods also benefits social organizations that receive them as donations from the DNIT, Orué said.

“We will continue to fight against tax evasion, smuggling and other scourges that affect the economy,” he said in a message posted on social media.
