DNIT highlights agreement with IPS to improve controls and the collection of the Employer Workers’ Contribution

Asunción, IP Agency.- The national director of Tax Revenue, Óscar Orué, highlighted the agreement signed this week with the head of the Social Security Institute (IPS), Jorge Brítez, to improve control of compliance with social security obligations.

Through this Interinstitutional Cooperation Framework agreement, it is expected to achieve more efficient and effective work, from the different areas of action of each institution.

It will allow cooperation and coordination between both institutions with the purpose of facilitating the organization, coordination and promotion of the exchange of pertinent information and the necessary cooperation to carry out the control of compliance with obligations in relation to social insurance administered by the IPS.

The agreement provides for collaboration between the parties to strengthen labor formality, promote the use of technological tools, exchange of information and training. The agreement will have a duration of two years and came into effect with its signature.

“We are honored to collaborate in strengthening the IPS, complying with President Peña’s instructions to work in coordination in the public sector. The objective is formalization, which is the only way to move forward,” stated the director of the DNIT.

The areas that will be in charge of supervising, coordinating and guaranteeing the correct implementation of all the articles of the aforementioned agreement will be designated by the parties. The follow-up and monitoring of the execution of the agreement as well as the Specific Agreements is the responsibility of the Executive Management of the DNIT.

“It is well known that on many occasions the employers do not contribute everything they should for the salaried workers they have. This agreement will allow us to increase revenue and invest more in health,” said the head of the IPS.

35 thousand new taxpayers from January to April

Orué confirmed that, in four months, that is, from January to April of this year, the DNIT attracted 35 thousand new taxpayers, which “means not only job creation, but greater economic development,” he expressed to Radio Nacional.

The increase in the number of taxpayers also meant that in eight months of management it achieved the objective and exceeded 400 million dollars in collection.

He highlighted that in the Undersecretary of Taxation all management was made electronic, a mechanism that needs to be replicated and consolidated in the institutions in these 4 more years.
