DMI: Biting cold hits North Jutland tonight

NORTH JUTYLLAND:There hasn’t been much spring in the air these past few days, and there won’t be any tonight either.

Meteorologist on duty at DMI, Pernille Hansen, expects that during the night it may drop to minus 12 degrees in North Jutland.

– It will be cold and clear weather. It is already minus eight degrees in Aalborg, and the temperature will drop further tonight, she says.

Therefore, the people of North Jutland must prepare for slippery roads again on Thursday.

– There is a risk of snow-slick roads where they have not been cleared. It will also be there during tomorrow when new snow falls. Tonight there will be freezing, wet roads where the snow has melted and is now freezing again, so it will be slippery, says Pernille Hansen.

According to the meteorologist, it will stay dry until Thursday morning, when it will start snowing again in northern Jutland.

– Then a line comes in with showers, and it looks like it will come in and hit the west coast around six to seven tomorrow morning, and then it will move to the southeast, says Pernille Hansen.

The snow showers will probably drift away from North Jutland on Thursday afternoon. At DMI, it is expected that between two and ten centimeters of snow will fall during the day in northern Jutland.

Locally, it may fall a bit further, and again the forecast says that it is in Vendsyssel that the most snow will fall.
