DLSS continues to improve thanks to the constant training of the neural network by the NVIDIA supercomputer. The update will bring improvements to Super Resolution technology, DLAA anti-aliasing, and DLSS frame generation.

Specific improvements in the areas listed include:

  • frame generation – uses game engine data more efficiently, improving interface stability and image quality during fast movement;
  • Super Resolution – Improves fine detail stability and overall image quality in Ultra Performance mode;
  • DLAA – Improves image quality, reduces ghosting, and enhances edge smoothing in high-contrast scenarios.

The first improvements will be Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Portal with RTX. You can see how the updates affected the image quality of the first two games in the NVIDIA-provided short clips above and below.

The release of Fine Wine is expected during the current quarter, that is, until the end of March. The DLSS 3 updates listed will ship with game patches and via GeForce Game Ready drivers from NVIDIA.

Wccftech notes that Super Resolution and DLAA improvements will be available in DLSS games even on legacy NVIDIA graphics cards, including RTX 20 and 30 series.

As part of CES 2023 also was confirmedthat DLSS 3 will be supported at launch by the post-apocalyptic thriller Atomic Heart, the survival MMO shooter The Day Before, and the fantasy roguelite shooter Witchfire.
