DLSS 3 has become an exclusive for modern NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series video cards, but DLSS for owners of outdated video cards is also not forgotten
After the announcement of DLSS 3 for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series, some owners of older video cards were not very happy. NVIDIA didn’t forget to take care of them too by improving DLSS 2.
На TechPowerUp tested DLSS 2.5.1 and compared the results with DLSS 2.4.3. The test subjects were Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3, games by CD Projekt RED.
It turned out that DLSS 2.5.1 with the sharpness filter turned off allows for a noticeable increase in overall image quality. When using DLSS 2.5.1, objects in games began to flicker less, the effect of ghosting (ghosting artifacts, when a trail appears behind a moving object) is reduced.
Clarified that the new version of DLSS 2.5.1 automatically disables all built-in sharpening effects; the sharpening sliders no longer affect anything, this should fix a lot of problems, because. in some games, even setting it to zero might have some impact. The filter can be enabled manually through the NVIDIA Control Panel or another similar tool.
