Djurgården loan Teodor Munther to Herning Blue Fox

Djurgården lends goalkeeper talent Teodor Munther.
The 18-year-old will play with Herning Blue Fox in Denmark in the future.
– This will be a good solution for him and give him the opportunity to play matches, says Niklas Wikegård.

Last spring, Djurgården announced that they are signing a contract with the 18-year-old goalkeeper talent Teodor Munther. He is then included in the A team squad as one of three goalkeepers together with Viktor Andrén and Hugo Hävelid.

But now Djurgården is going out with it that Munther is sent on loan to get more playing time. The goalkeeper will play for Danish Herning Blue Fox in the coming time.

– “Teo” is a talented and promising goalkeeper born in 2005. We will find a good path in terms of development for him, says Djurgården’s sports manager Niklas Wikegård and continues:
– Due to Herning’s first goalkeeper having just broken down, we were asked if they could borrow “Teo” for a while. This will be a good solution for him and will allow him to play games for a number of weeks to come.

Awarded as the best J20 goalkeeper

Theodore Munther had to guard the box in Djurgården’s pre-season opener against Västerås on Wednesday, which ended with a 3-2 victory for DIF, but will now play in Denmark in the future. Djurgården writes that Munther will join Herning as early as Monday to train with the club.

The Göta/Traneberg IK-raised goalkeeper was allowed to debut in the HockeyAllsvenskan with Djurgården as early as the 2022/23 season, but last year it was only an A-team match on loan at Tyresö/Hanviken in Hockeyettan. Munther was named the best goalkeeper in the J20 National last season and is predicted to be one of the goalkeepers selected for the JVM squad ahead of the winter.
