Rafael Nadal has triumphed in Roland Garros an incredible 14 times. The Spaniard has thus won many more trophies since 2005 than he has had title contenders in that span. A maximum of a handful could count themselves seriously in this circle: Roger Federer, Novak Djoković, Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka and Dominic Thiem. Federer and Murray are not (anymore) there, Wawrinka and Thiem (far) from their best form. That leaves only Djoković, who is now title favorite in Nadal’s absence.
