A DJI today announced the release of its latest action camera, the Osmo Action 4. The device is aimed at thrill-seekers and adventurers looking to capture high-quality footage in a variety of conditions.
The only change in the camera, compared to last year, is due to the improved image sensor that is now 1/1.3 inch — once morest 1/1.7″ of its predecessor. It therefore shoots good 4K videos at up to 120 frames per second.
Osmo Action 4 has arrived.
With a 1/1.3″ sensor, 10-bit color and impressive low-light shooting capability, it sets a new standard for image clarity and detail for action cameras.

The new camera also offers a variety of recording modes suitable for sports that require a lot of movement, such as 360° HorizonSteady for vertical video, Wi-Fi live streaming, FPV footage and more.
Still according to DJI, the device’s color temperature sensor ensures vibrant and faithful colors in a variety of environments, whether indoors or outdoors. There are also two touchscreens, a quick-change button to switch modes, built-in microphones and voice control options.
DJI promises a battery life of up to 2.5 hours of footage. In addition, the camera also has a quick charge function that provides 80% power in 18 minutes.
According to the manufacturer, the camera is built to withstand extreme conditions, being able to operate in freezing temperatures and film underwater, reaching up to 18 meters of depth without protection.
Osmo Action 4 also introduces up to 2x digital zoom and a 10-bit D-Log M color mode. It is still compatible with the app LightCut from DJI, which allows instant editing via Wi-Fi connection.
In addition, DJI also offers a wide range of compatible accessories, such as helmet, neck, chest, bike handlebar, wrist strap, backpack and floating strap mounts, as well as a waterproof case – all, of course, sold separately.
