DJI announced the wireless microphone ‘DJI MIC 2’.
DJI MIC 2 is the successor model to DJI MIC, a pocket-sized wireless microphone system released by DJI in 2021. Uniquely, this product is a model of DJI’s new 1-inch pocket gimbal camera ‘OSMO Pocket 3’ before its official launch. The Creator Combo first made its name known by including the DJI MIC2 transmitter as a component.
The DJI MIC 2, which was officially released this time, promotes itself as a pocket-sized pro audio device through advancements in audio recording technology, boasting high-quality recording functions, user-friendly design, and notable stability.
Upgraded hardware specifications allow you to record high-quality sound with omni-directional audio recording, and the newly introduced ‘Intelligent Noise Cancelling’ function allows you to record clear conversations by effectively reducing environmental noise even in noisy places. Adding a windscreen can effectively reduce wind noise even in situations where there is a lot of wind or when you are moving quickly.
Additionally, you can record a backup audio track at -6dB along with the main audio track, allowing you to prepare for unexpected audio level spikes and easily record balanced audio even in noisy venues.
Like the existing DJI MIC, each transmitter has 8GB of built-in storage space, allowing uncompressed 48kHz 24-bit audio to be stored for up to 14 hours, and clips for post-editing can also be easily exported. By utilizing the transmitter’s built-in recording function, it can be used as an independent voice recorder or to record backup audio while shooting video. Because it supports 32-bit float internal recording, it provides a wide dynamic range even in difficult environments.
Like its predecessor, it utilizes DJI wireless transmission technology to support an audio transmission range of up to 250m in an open environment without obstacle interference, and its strong interference resistance specifications provide stable transmission even in environments such as complex city streets or shopping malls.
Each transmitter and receiver provides 6 hours of operating time, which can be extended to up to 18 hours when used with the charging case. Additionally, when connecting to a smartphone, it is possible to charge the smartphone and receiver at the same time by connecting the receiver’s USB-C port to the charging cable.
DJI MIC 2 has an enhanced Bluetooth direct connection function, allowing direct connection from the transmitter to DJI pocket gimbal cameras and action cameras released last year, such as Osmo Pocket 3 or Osmo Action 4, without a separate receiver. You can also connect the Bluetooth transmitter to a smartphone and use it with third-party video recording software.
The receiver can be connected to a variety of cameras and has built-in gain presets tailored to specific camera models, allowing you to easily record optimized audio by simply selecting the camera brand and model. It also supports automatic power on/off function according to the camera by connecting with a 3.5mm TRS cable. The OLED touchscreen combined with a precision dial is 1.1 inches larger than the previous model, allowing users to easily adjust functions such as volume, gain, and brightness.
Unlike the existing DJI MIC, which was released as a single package consisting of two transmitters, one receiver, and a charging case to store them, DJI MIC 2 is sold separately in addition to the full package, with individual components and accessories available for various wireless audio recording scenarios. What we can respond to has also changed.
The price of DJI MIC 2 (2 TX + 1 RX + charging case), which is the same as the existing configuration, is KRW 486,900, the price of one transmitter and receiver (1 TX + 1 RX) is KRW 227,900, and the price of a single transmitter is KRW 129,600, available in shadow black. Additionally, you can choose a pearl white color.
