News from Angola- In a lively session in Luanda, DJ Malvado released two EPs today that mark the beginning of the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of his career. “N’Gola Zomba” and “N’Gola Groove” are now available in physical and digital formats and are supported by Tigra.
The Angolan artist once once more celebrated musical diversity in Luanda today with the release of two EPs.
The works are the preamble to the celebrations of the 30 years of the DJ’s career, which he will mark with a new album in March of next year.
On the EP “N´Gola Zomba”, DJ Malvado praises kizomba together with great musicians and friends such as Ricardo Lemvo, Nelo Paim, Roxanne Fernandes, Don Kikas, Dicklas One, Jorge Queza and Chico Viegas. From Cape Verde come the voices and rhythms of Johnny Ramos and Dina Medina. The EP also features the participation of Déde Saint-Prix, a musician from Martinique.
The second EP released moves to the rhythm of afro house. “N’Gola Groove” features Texas, Aka M, Eddy Tussa, Tukayana Lopes, Suzana Rodrigues, Manya, Jorge Queza and Aurson da Rosa.
“In my productions, I always make a point of including our national rhythms and dialects, and that’s why I decided to release the two EPs to mark this diversity that has always marked my 30-year career, and during which I’ve covered genres such as kizomba, semba , coladera, guetho zouk, afro house and also kuduro”, said DJ Malvado. According to him, “the EPs have been prepared since the pandemic” and summarize his “vision of music and collective culture”.
