The mass went wrong. Saturday evening in Tincques, a small town west of Arras in Pas-de-Calais, dozens of people were poisoned with carbon monoxide (CO). The facts occurred at the church of Tincques, during a mass which brought together 200 people, reports the regional daily The voice of the North. Children and adolescents, installed near the altar, on the floor, were the first to get dizzy. But it was only following mass that most believers were victims of discomfort, headaches…
Several dozen people were taken care of (regarding seventy), specify our colleagues, and an important rescue device was deployed. Many people had to be oxygenated and some placed in a hyperbaric chamber. According to the firefighters, the carbon monoxide would come from the heating of the church. This was banned and vented.
