The artist, Mai Kassab, sent a message to the artist, Mona Zaki, after her speech at the “Diyafa” Festival in Dubai, while honoring her for her series “Under Guardianship.”

Mona Zaki was honored for her series “Under Guardianship,” which was shown during the last Ramadan drama season. While receiving the award, she asked for her speech to be translated, saying: “I hope you translate it because I want to speak in Arabic today. I don’t know what to say. I’m certainly happy to be among you, but I feel.” After the recent events, we have all changed, something inside us has changed, something inside us has been broken, and I think it will not come back until the people of Palestine remain free and take all their rights.”
Mona Zaki continued: “We have all fallen short in their rights over many years, so I hope that the whole world will be healthy and discover the truth and know what humanity means.”
She ended her speech by saying: “Another thing I learned during this period is the truth that no one does humanity for you. There is no need for there to be an organization that writes rules for humanity. Humanity is all born and remains inside you and knows what its rules are, without there being an organization that tells you what it means to be a human being.”
