Diya is the second princess from the Jaipur royal family to be elected. Sitaram Aggarwal of Congress was the main opposition candidate. He won by a majority of 71,368 votes. Later in 2019, he entered the Lok Sabha from Rajsamand with a majority of 5.51 lakh votes. Coming to Vidyadharnagar assembly seat before the completion of that term.
