Perhaps the hours in Emelec of the midfielder Dixon Arroyo are numbered. The soccer player was excluded from the list of players that this Saturday, in Portoviejo, will visit the Dolphin, for date four of the Pro League.
Due to a two-month debt, as confirmed by the soccer player, on Thursday the squad would have decided to suspend the morning practice in solidarity with his teammate.
José Pileggi Véliz, president of Emelec, was asked about Arroyo’s position and responded with an angry tone: “You have to ask him.”
“There is no (abnormal) situation. We are up to date with our obligations, and anything will be dealt with in a disciplinary manner with the person who caused this, ”he added.
Arroyo, in a conversation with a digital media, indicated that he sent a notification to the Pro League on the issue of debt and clarified that it is not a “demand”.
“If they want me to continue, I will. I respect the club a lot, I have always given my best and I never try to harm the team, but these are things that I tried to discuss personally, internally with the club and I never had an answer, ”he commented.
“I wrote to the president, vice president, manager, coordinator and no one gave me a reason (for my payment), the only thing they told me is that they were not going to pay me, and it is not like that because the signed amounts have to be paid, whether or not there is a championship. Because if not, I could work those two months with another team and I don’t think the team will allow it, ”he added in conversation with Studiofútbol.
He insisted that he has not sued the Guayaquil institution and believes that President Pileggi “took the wrong” his situation.
“It is not a demand but a notification. A question to Liga Pro and the president took it badly, but it must be solved. I thank my colleagues for their support, ”he specified.
“As players we try to keep the dressing room healthy and that is why those who have arrived have fit in well with the team, the difference in coaching staff or leadership has not been noticed. We have tried to keep many things within the club as it should be ”, he added.
When asked about his situation in the squad coached by Miguel Rondelli, the midfielder indicated that he has not had any notification about his continuity.
“As long as they don’t tell me otherwise (not to train) I have to be at the club and training. Thank God I have the support of my teammates because it’s not just me, it’s with more players, ”he concluded.
He also indicated that he already had a meeting with Jorge Bonnard, millionaire vice president, and they agreed on a payment plan. (D)
