The Federation of Artistic Syndicates in Egypt witnessed a meeting, which is still ongoing, regarding the crisis of the series “Belly of a whaleThe meeting is now attended by director Omar Abdel Aziz, head of the union, Dr. Ashraf Zaki, head of the Acting Professions Syndicate, Musaad Fouda, head of the Cinematic Professions Syndicate, producer Mohamed Al-Adl, and Dr. Samir Farag, to discuss the crisis in the “Belly of the Whale” series.

Decisions of the Federation of Artistic Syndicates

The union decided

First: Adopting and referring to the laws and regulations regulating work in technical unions. In the event of any legal violations, the matter is referred to the competent union for investigation and appropriate action.

Secondly – Emphasis on not employing non-members of artistic unions except with a prior work permit before filming from the competent union in order to obtain the necessary permits for filming from the relevant authorities.

Third – Regarding what was stated in the statement of the Syndicate of Acting Professions regarding the director of the series “Batlan Al-Jawt”, the decision issued by the Syndicate regarding the director only will be suspended and the matter will be referred to the Syndicate of Cinematic Professions to take appropriate action. The decision was to prevent members of the Syndicate of Acting Professions from dealing with director Ahmed Fawzi Saleh. Director of the Belly of the Whale series.

While the Union stressed the necessity of employing union members while allowing new talents according to specific standards in accordance with laws and regulations.
