Disqualification in Opposition Primaries: Mayor Manuel Ferreira Urges for a Solution

According to Manuel Ferreira, mayor of Lechería in Anzoátegui, how the opposition primary has been developing, scheduled for October 22, will not allow any conflict to be resolved, due to the disqualification of some candidates.

“It is a sterile exercise that is not going to lead us to any solution to any conflict if they continue to be raised as they are being raised. It may be that a disabled citizen or another disabled citizen wins it,” declared the national leader of Fuerza Vecinal during a conference press this Tuesday.

In this sense, he asked those who are disabled to participate in political processes, such as María Corina Machado, Henrique Capriles and Freddy Superlano, to withdraw from the contest that aims to agree on a single candidate for the presidential elections that will take place in 2024.

“If you are disqualified, step aside and allow Venezuelans to vote for someone who can be a candidate,” he commented, not before assessing that there is time to correct the mistakes that are being made and that from his point of view, They only favor the government.

“There is time left to direct this great effort that is being made into something that makes some kind of sense that today does not. This primary only serves the Maduro government, if modifications are not made, other paths that allow people to elect someone who can become a 2024 candidate,” he said.
