Dispute among Turks ended in Mauthausen with injured police officers

The police operation was triggered because several young people are said to have been driving around wildly in cars and mopeds shortly after 9 p.m. in the station car park. So a neighbor called the police. When officers arrived, they noticed about 15 youths engaged in a heated verbal argument in Turkish. An 18-year-old Turk from Perg got so angry that his cousin had to hold him back. This angered the teenager even more, and the two got into a physical altercation.

All attempts by the alarmed police officers to calm him down were unsuccessful. On the contrary, he insulted the officers and continued his behavior, the police said in a broadcast on Sunday. For this reason, the police officers had no choice but to arrest the aggressive youth. The two officers fell with the youth to the ground, causing a police officer and the aggressive were slightly injured. The 18-year-old finally managed to fix himself on the ground. He was taken to the police station, where the alcohol test revealed 1.06 per thousand. By order of the public prosecutor’s office in Linz, he was released.
