DisneySea’s 15th anniversary logo is copied, the music video director is ashamed… Girls’ Generation’s Lightning

When allegations were raised that the design of a music video set for a new song by a girl group may have copied the logo of the 15th anniversary of Tokyo DisneySea in 2016, the person concerned apologized.

Director Shin Hee-won, who directed the music video, said on SNS on the 14th, “I am only ashamed and apologetic for borrowing a design without permission when I was commissioned for a music video and was involved in planning and directing as well as even a small prop.”

The music video is the 7th regular album ‘Forever 1’ commemorating the 15th anniversary of ‘Girls’ Generation’.

Director Shin said, “I searched for a number-related logo design for the 15th anniversary parade set, and found several references, found an image that matched well, and borrowed it from the set design without verifying the source.”

Director Shin said, “Today, we confirmed that the design is a logo commemorating the 15th anniversary of DisneySea Japan, and we sincerely apologize for the part that proceeded with the set design without thorough investigation or confirmation.” “Girls’ Generation members and SM Entertainment , I sincerely apologize once once more to the fans who enjoyed watching the music video.”

Earlier, following the music video was released, there was a claim in Japan that “the set background is similar to the DisneySea 15th anniversary logo”.
