On the occasion of the convention D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Eventwhich took place in Anaheim, California from August 9 to 11, 2024, bringing together Disney fans from all over the world, Disneyland Paris has announced some big news about future experiences coming to the two Disney Parks and beyond!
The most anticipated news was the creation of a new Land inspired by The Lion King, which will be built after the scheduled opening of World of Frozen at Disney Adventure World in 2026. A series of other projects were also revealed that are underway as part of the unprecedented transformation of Europe’s leading tourist destination. Starting in January 2025, guests will be able to enjoy a new nighttime show that will light up Sleeping Beauty Castle every evening, while in the coming years, an innovative evening show will arrive that will take place in Adventure Bay, the central lake of Disney Adventure World Park.
The First Ever Lion King Land in a Disney Park
In front of an ecstatic audience, Josh D’Amaro, President of Disney Experiences, revealed the upcoming construction of an all-new extraordinary land at Disneyland Paris, dedicated to one of the most beloved Disney franchises around the world and especially in Europe: The Lion King! This gigantic area will take guests on an incredible journey through the unforgettable adventures of Simba, Timon and Pumba and many other Characters from the new Disney film Mufasa: The Lion King, coming out on December 19, 2024. Disney Imagineers will bring to life the majestic Pride Rock, which will serve as the gateway to a water attraction full of immersive adventures that will take guests to the Land of Lions, in a reimagining of the story of the Disney Classic. When visiting this Land, guests will be able to meet their favorite Disney Characters, dine in themed restaurants and indulge in endless shopping in boutiques.

Inspired by the Savannah and iconic locations from the franchise, this new area will push the boundaries of imagination with unprecedented detail and a unique new attraction that blends a spectacular aquatic experience with cutting-edge Audio-Animatronics® technology.
Imagineers have worked tirelessly to maintain Disney’s unique storytelling tradition. With construction set to begin next year, The Lion King Land near Adventure Bay will continue the Resort’s unprecedented transformation.

Opening of World of Frozen and the launch of an exclusive nighttime spectacular on Disney Adventure World’s central lake in 2026
Before the opening of The Lion King Land, guests will be able to enjoy a variety of new experiences at Disney Adventure World. These new experiences include: the promenade Adventure Way surrounded by lush landscape, the family attraction Raiponce Tangled Spinthe elegant The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge offering spectacular views of the majestic Adventure Bay and the highly anticipated Land inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen.
When the Kingdom of Arendelle opens its doors in 2026, guests will not only have the opportunity to embark on an unforgettable journey alongside Anna and Elsa in Disneyland Paris’ newest attraction, Frozen Ever After, but they will also be able to take part in immersive shopping and dining experiences and meet the beloved sisters in person during a royal reunion!
That same year, a breathtaking new nighttime show will also debut on the lake. The shores along Adventure Bay and the Regal View Restaurant & Lounge will be the perfect place to admire the impressive combination of water screens, fountains, special effects and never-before-seen drone choreography. Disneyland Paris is also developing the first aquatic drones that will be used for this special show that will provide a spectacular end to each day of adventure at Disney Adventure World! All these new experiences will double the size of the Park, which ushers in an era of new creative vision. To celebrate this new chapter, when this new themed area opens in 2026, the second Park will be renamed Disney Adventure World.
An unforgettable new night show coming to Disneyland Park in January 2025
A new year usually means new beginnings! Starting in January 2025, a brand new nighttime show in Disneyland Park will enchant guests of all ages. A magical combination of iconic songs and projections of Disney Characters on Sleeping Beauty Castle will leave everyone breathless! This new show will take guests on a journey full of emotions and memories, helping them discover that true magic is found in every moment of life.
With its unique blend of projections, fountains, breathtaking lighting effects and an original soundtrack, this show promises to push the technological boundaries of previous nighttime shows (Disney Dreams! and Disney Illuminations), and immerse guests in their favorite stories like never before. In addition, for the first time in the history of nighttime shows at Disneyland Paris, Main Street, U.S.A. will be the backdrop to the show. Whether it’s the colorful settings of Pinocchio, Beauty and the Beast, Encanto or even Buzz Lightyear’s galaxy, many Disney Animation and Pixar stories will come to life on the iconic street located in Disneyland Park for a never-before-seen experience made possible by cutting-edge projections complete with sound effects that will further immerse guests in the story.

A transformation that comes to life throughout the Resort
All these projects are part of a development plan that aims to push the boundaries of innovation and excellence. They reflect Disneyland Paris’ commitment to expanding its offering in a creative and innovative way.
Earlier this year, the Resort revealed the next phase of its Disney Hotels transformation plan. After inviting guests to step into the world of Marvel Super Heroes with the reopening of Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel in 2021 and unveiling the fully-renovated Disneyland Hotel in 2024, every cabin at Disney’s Davy Crockett Ranch will soon be remodeled with interior décor inspired by the adventures of beloved Disney Characters like Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, along with Huey, Dewey, Louie and Gaia.
Disney Village is also undergoing a major renovation with the aim of improving its offerings and exceeding guests’ expectations. In the coming months, the complex will welcome new restaurants and shops, offering the opportunity to experience a modern, warm and dynamic atmosphere.
